Nollywood veteran actress, Evangelist Patience Ozokwor, has revealed how
she was forced into marriage by her parents at the age of 19.
Ozokwor,
fondly called ‘Mama G’, said she did not see any reason why her parents
forced her into marriage at that age, adding that they just wanted her
to get married.
She said as a child, born into a polygamous family, her mother was eager to see her get married before other children.
In
an interview with RTV, the actress said, “It was not my decision [to
get married at 19]. And if it’s not my decision it means I was forced
into it. I was forced into it many years ago, and I did not see any
reason my parents were forcing me as I was still young.
“And
even at that age, I had so many suitors. You know when you come from a
polygamous family and your mother is struggling for her own daughters to
get married and this other one is also struggling for her own daughters
to get married and when this one [suitor] came around and my mother
said go and I could not make a choice. I was not allowed to make a
choice. At the end, I had to obey my parents. I was not brought up to
disobey them at all."
When asked if she enjoyed the marriage after she obliged her parents push, she added, “Sincerely speaking as a Christian I did not. The marriage was not easy at all for me as a young girl, it was not easy.”
She
said no matter all she went through in the marriage, she had to stay on
because her parents' eyes were on her and could not jump from one man
to the other.
Patience further advised women to remain in their
matrimonial homes no matter what, adding that the only reason a woman
should separate from her husband is when life is involved.

John Dumelo Under Attack For Mocking Bread Hawker
Actor John Dumelo has used his social media platform to make fun of a
university graduate for hawking after his university education.
We are not sure what John’s motive was but the “Baby Thief” Actor posted a picture of a gentleman hawking on the street with bread and he captioned it:
“Just saw a knust grad hawking in traffic.. what went wrong?”
But the known supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was roundly sounded for mocking the graduate, which some believe was perhaps just to score political points and make the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) unpopular.
Among those who have taken John on, is Hiplife Artist A-Plus who thinks John's post was absolutely unnecessary and asked John to remove the post and apologise to the gentleman.
He posted this on Facebook:
“I'm angry!!! Everyday I post my opinion. Today I'm posting my anger. John Dumelo remove this post from Instagram now!!! A bread seller is a human being. You can't just take pictures of people and post it in your page for attention. A bread seller has right which must be respected. A bread seller is better than an armed robber!!! A bread seller is better than a drug dealer!!! It's better for a person to hawk on the streets than to indulge in crime. I'm looking for this bread seller. John Dumelo must apologise to him. Or prepare for a legal battle!!!”
Several others have expressed an anger and accused John of posting the photo with some negative intentions.

I've No Regret Practicing Music - Kumi Guitar

Kumi Guitar |
Speaking to Sokoohemaa on her Mid-Morning Show on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he pointed out that he did not give up despite the challenges and difficulties he encountered.
According to him, his motivation to others will be to admonish them to fight on no matter the difficulties.
He encouraged Ghanaians not to give up because of what others say, or because of things are hard rather, ''use it to push harder until you achieve your aim,'' he said.
He added, it is a slow process towards achieving greatness but giving up should not be an option.Using himself as an example, he said, there is an improvement comparing from where I started some years ago.
Things were rough and though but we kept fighting. I will not say all is rosy today but I can confidently say that, there is an improvement in my life.
The Highlife musician has recently signed a five-year deal with Zylofon Media, an entertainment company and a record label based at East Legon – Accra, with a Hyundai Sonata brand new saloon car, a house situated at East Legon and a 100,000 dollars as part of his entitlements.
He has since relased a track produced by Kin Dee and features Obibini a single off his album expected to be unveiled later in the year.
If You Talk About My Relationship With Paedae, You’re Not A Serious Person – Sandra Ankobiah
Sandra Ankobiah and Paedae have been the elusive Ghanaian
couple of the past few years, always denying each other when under the
curtain publicly but privately all up in each other’s business.
Thus, questions are always swirling about their ‘real’ relationship status.
Apparently tired of such questions, Ankobiah, during a recent appearance on Hitz Fm, simply decided to throw shade at those wondering about her relationship status.
“I would like to tell those interested in this matter that, don’t focus on that because it is not important. There are so many more important things that we should be focusing our energies on than talking about who is dating who. Lets talk about how we can make a difference.” she said, adding;
“I consider people who talk about my relationship with Paedae as not serious. If you are looking at such a story and want to be focusing on such an irrelevant topic then I don’t see you as a serious person. I won’t even bother to comment on.”

Ghana Music Week Celebration Is A Joke - Ben Brako
Veteran Ghanaian Highlife musician Ben Brako has bashed the organizers of the Ghana Music Week celebration for putting together what he describes as a poor show.
The “Mewie M’agro Dzi” hitmaker asserted that the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has failed in using the right people to organise a successful event.
The musician, speaking in an in an interview with Joy Prime’s Ibrahim Ben-Bako at the re-launch of the Ghana Music Week into a festival last Friday, noted that MUSIGA’s inability to use qualified persons has led to the poor patronage of the celebration.
“Please let’s be candid. Look at this show, nobody even heard about it and this is something organized by the Musicians Union.
“When ordinary shows are done here, do you see how full it (the venue) is? And at the launch, you see how empty it is? This is because they are not letting the right people do the right things and they are not recognising their priorities to push the right things,” he said.
The musician, when asked if he has benefitted from the Ghana Music Week celebration since its inception said; “No! This is even the first time I’ve been invited...but seriously, we need to start thinking.
"We need to know who we are and where we are going. If we don’t define ourselves and take our definitions from outsiders, then we are fools.”
Death Threats ‘Empty’ - A-Plus
Ghanaian musician Kwame A-Plus has described threats on his life from anonymous persons as empty.
According to him, he takes his personal security seriously, hence is not intimidated by such messages mostly posted to his social media pages.
A-Plus was instrumental in the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s victory in the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking on Accra FM Tuesday January 31, he said: “I felt that…as a nation we all needed to support the change of government. People fought for the independence we are enjoying in Ghana today, others lost their lives, their properties. At a time it was even difficult to travel around the country. Some Ghanaians stood up to fight the British for our freedom and so why should I be scared to change a government through the ballot.
“Everybody in this world will die and so I am not scared to die for my country. There are some people who are just going about threatening me. I have received so many death threats on social media but those threats do not push me. Sometimes I walk alone at night because I feel those threats are empty. If someone really wanted to harm you, he would not give an indication.
“But whoever believes he can harm me should attempt and see what will happen. I have prepared myself. I have boys around me, more than 100 boys, and so whoever wants to attack me should attempt and see what will happen.”
