The popular television
personality Kwame Dzokoto shocked everyone when he made his intentions
to contest for a seat in Parliament known, but after election day, he
was the one left in shock.
Dzokoto, speaking to
Showbiz, said he was so well received during his rounds in his
constituency, Tarkwa Nsuaem, that he never contemplated losing the
seat.

Thus when results were tallied and it turned out he had lost, he could not believe it.
“Actually, it was a shocker because I was very well received during
my rounds and I didn’t attack anybody’s personality during my campaign.”
he said.
“I wanted to go to Parliament because I
see the lack of development in the area so I was hoping to use my
personality and popularity to help develop the area,” he added.Dzokoto
added that he also believed he could have used his status as a
parliamentarian to advance the cause of creative arts.
“I believed I could use my status as a parliamentarian to advance the
cause of the arts and creative industry. For example, if a radio
presenter isn’t being paid well, I could talk on their behalf and I
could help push some of the laws in showbiz.”
According to the Edziban host, he would be back in 2020 to contest for the seat once again.
